Playoffs

Congratulations to all teams and SFPA members for completing our first full regular season in more than two years! Thanks for your flexibility and understanding as the board, team captains, and members have worked through a challenging but fun season.

There is now a Playoffs tab in the site menu that contains tournament brackets and schedule information.

The top 16 teams have qualified to play for the City Championship and a spot in the West Coast Challenge; teams ranked 17th or higher will play for the Founders Cup. The City Championship is double elimination and the Founders Cup is single elimination.

Please take a close look at the schedules once they are posted after each week’s matches. Some matches in the City Championship will take place on Thursdays and due to conflicts at sponsor bars we may be using more alternate locations than usual.

8-ball finals today

Good luck to the 8-ball tournament finalists! Feel free to come to Billiard Palacade to watch or follow along with the results online here.

Note on interdivisional games

A quick heads up as we move into weeks 11-13: Traditionally, these matches have paired up teams in different divisions strictly according to their division ranking (1 vs 1 seeds, 2 vs 2 seeds, and so on). This season we plan on adjusting seeds up or down by 1 slot to avoid repeat matchups and allow teams to play new opponents when possible. For example, if the 5 seeds in the two divisions have already played each other this season, we may match up the 4 and 5 seeds or the 5 and 6 seeds instead. Minimizing the number of neutral-table matches will also be a factor in these decisions.

Good luck finishing out the regular season!
