On Sunday, March 13, we will be contesting the Bernie King Memorial tournament at Billiard Palacade (5179 Mission Street).

This is a charity event with two brackets, one for players with a record of .501 or higher in their last full season and one for players with a record of .500 or lower in their last full season. (For the purposes of this tournament, “last full season” will mean Fall 2019 or earlier.) The entry fee for SFPA members is $20. Non-SFPA members are allowed to play with a $25 entry and will participate in the upper bracket.

Warmup starts at 11:15 a.m. and tournament play begins at 12 noon. We hope to see you there!

Due to a conflict at the Cinch on February 26, the Luby Invitational tournament will be changing dates to Tuesday, March 22. Tables will be open for warmup at 6:30 pm and the event will start at 7:00 pm.

As a reminder, new league members this season and players with a season record of .500 or below for the past 2 seasons are eligible to play in the event, which is named after Luby Pelletier, one of the founders of the SFPA. Participation is free and coaching is allowed.

Better late than never – thanks to demand for a third team at Billiard Palacade, we now have a full 32-team roster. This means no more bye weeks for the rest of the season!

As a result of this and another team switching bars, we have made some minor tweaks to the division schedule. Family Irish Brigade is now in Division 4, the Dovre Ballers are now in Division 2, and the new Billiard Palacade team is in Division 4.

Affected matches for Week 2 (Tuesday, February 15):
– New Billiard Palacade (H) vs. Shovel That (A)
– Dovre Ballers (H) vs. Pilsner Penguins (A)
– Lone Star Longhorns (H) vs. Family Irish Brigade (A)

Teams in Division 2 and Division 4, please check the schedule to make sure you have the latest information about your matches in Weeks 2 through 8. Teams in Division 1 and Division 3 are unaffected.
